Chips / Fry’s – Home made – SYN FREE

You like Chips. Why not make your own simple to do and taste they taste better the the types you can by in the freezer isle of the local supper market.

Swoop the oil with Fry Light mist spray to be Slimming world SYN free.

You can also add some extra flavour by sprinkling with various spices on such as paprika or curry powder or why not try the merguez spice mix.

  • Prep time: 5 minutes
  • Cook time: 30-40 minutes
  • Total time: 40 minutes
Ingredients
  • 1 kg potatoes
  • roughly 5 tbsp Rapeseed or olive oil
Preparation method
Step 1 Pre Heat oven to 200c
Step 2 Chop potatoes in to chip shapes. Leave the skin on, however, if you wish this can be removed.
Step 3 Place the chipped potatoes in to a sauce pan of cold water and Bring to the boil. Once the water starts to boil remove from the heat and drain chips.
Step 4 Evenly distribute the part boiled chips to an oven tray. Coat the chips in the oil. (Remember to swoop for Fry Light mist spray if you want this to be SYN free. It is also at this point you can sprinkle your chosen spice on to the chips if using.
Step 5 Place the baking tray in to the oven and cook for 30 minutes turning the chips half way through. Leave in oven longer if chips require.
Step 6 All that left to do is serve!
